About 321 Learmonth

321 Learmonth owner Marilyn Cormie has a passion for fresh produce and delicious food, a combination she believes should be savoured and enjoyed in a friendly, relaxed and comfortable environment. This is why she is passionate about 321 Learmonth cafe and restaurant.

The business has been built over recent years to cater for a range of celebrations providing a fantastic function room hire, making it ideal as a Ballarat country wedding venue

Located 20 minutes from Ballarat, 321 Learmonth provides quality local food and produce which can be accompanied by a glass of local cider made from the nearby Cider Farm. All of this can be enjoyed as a day visitor or by taking advantage of beautiful bed and breakfast accommodation that compliments the whole 321 Learmonth experience.

Learmonth is a lovely country town which was the geographical and political centre of the Shire of Ballarat, the first Shire Council proclaimed in Victoria. It is located towards the end of the 22km long Avenue of Honour that begins at Ballarat and terminates at nearby Weatherboard. The Arch of Victory was opened in 1920 by the Prince of Wales.

Another of the town's attractions is the Old Shire Hall that was designed by architect Henry Casellie and built in 1867. It is thought to be the only combined Roads Board/Council Chambers in Victoria. The Learmonth Lake was originally a shallow swamp that occasionally dried up and then, in 1863, water was redirected over the Great Divide to fill the lake and, until recent years, the lake was active with sail boats and power boats.
